As our landmark upgrade project at Tubli wastewater treatment works continues at pace – through the installation of our award-winning HYBACS technology – an important milestone has been reached with more than 350,000 hours worked on-site without a lost-time accident.
The project – due to be completed in Summer 2021 – employs 220 people, all of whom are working to the highest standards in health & safety. The project’s safety team have developed an excellent safety culture throughout the workforce. The project team were also quick to respond to the spread of COVID-19 and implemented measures to protect workers on site. This has been very successful and there has been no interruption to the progress of the project.
Once completed, the HYBACS upgrade at Tubli will deliver 230,000 m3 per day of treated wastewater that can be recycled for use in irrigation around the Kingdom. The project will also improve the water quality in Tubli Bay, an important ecological area for birds and marine life.
