R&D Foundation

Bluewater Bio’s technology development and aggregation strategy is founded on a strong commitment to world class R&D, demonstrated by academic partnerships across the globe. These include Water Innovate, Bluewater Bio’s own spin-out business based at the world-renowned Cranfield University campus near Cambridge, UK.

By bridging the research to industry innovation gap, Water Innovate overcomes major obstacles that have existed in the water and environmental industries for too long. Water Innovate has assembled a technology pipeline that is transferring ground-breaking environmental technologies from research labs into the marketplace. Water Innovate clearly identifies and exploits routes to market by developing & evaluating new technologies, whether in-house or scouted from third parties.

The Chairman of Water Innovate, Professor Tom Stephenson, is internationally respected as a foremost academic expert on water and wastewater, and he is the Chief Board Advisor to Bluewater Bio. As Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Cranfield University and former Head of the School of Applied Sciences, Tom has published over 150 papers on water and wastewater treatment and contributed to the OECD World Business Council for Sustainable Development report on water.
